Meet the Author

Samantha Bray LaRue is an author whose work speaks to anyone who grew up carrying more than a child should. In Rampart Street: The Silence That Saved Me, she shares the story of how God met her in the quiet places long before she knew how to ask for help. LaRue writes to encourage new and hesitant believers, survivors, and anyone learning to trust His voice again. This story illustrates her rescue from her former life due to the heroic actions of her aunt and uncle who adopted her.  Today, she lives in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas, where she continues creating resources that blend honesty, hope, and healing.

LaRue holds a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology from Purdue University where she graduated Cum Laude. She is the Director of Field Operations for the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans. Her plans include encouraging the youth of South Texas to follow their dreams and finish their education. Her dedication and determination show how impactful trust is, especially trusting Jesus and His plans for us.

She is a dedicated wife and mother of two boys. Her husband’s service in the Army National Guard has given her family the opportunity to move to many different cities where they have the honor of spreading God’s message. Her two boys are proof that miracles are possible (and that lightning can strike twice).

LaRue’s favorite Bible verse reads “"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Another verse LaRue enjoys is the one written on the cover page of her first Bible, gifted to her by her aunt. She wrote "But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
